Hi! We are the husband and wife team behind Actually Bears - Jackie & Steve. We first launched into the world of bears in early 1998 and haven't looked back since!
We are very excited last year to be celebrating 10 years of making bears - during that time Jackie has hand made well over 1600 bears!
Living in Suffolk with our 7 year old daughter, all the bears are designed and created by Jackie. They are all made individually by hand, and can take anything from 5 to 20+ hours to make.
Over the last decade our bears have found homes all over the world, including Japan, America, Alaska, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand - as well as all corners of the UK too!
We are probably best known for our innovative and exclusive 'Tubby Teds' designed by us. The most popular were Christmas limited editions - Puddin' and Snowbeary (pictured below right) although we continue to make them in various styles - both limited editions and one-off creations.
Now only available through our website and our postal mailing list of collectors, our bears have previously found homes through several bear shops, including Hamleys of London.
The bears we create are all collectable bears - the majority are created in mohair - and all are either one-off or small limited editions. They range in size from our miniature bears (3") to our largest bear ever at 36"!!! Our most popular bears have proven to be our bespoke wedding range, which we are delighted to have made for many special people on their special days.
